The Fire and Rescue Service know how important it is for everyone to understand what to do in the event of a fire. It is important for children to understand how their actions can help to keep them safe and how they need to act quickly in an emergency. The activities within this bundle expose the children to important fire safety messages and reinforce learning around how they can stay safe by knowing what to do in the event of a fire. The engaging code buster activities within this bundle, provide children with the opportunity to practise their number recognition and counting skills as well as utilising their reading skills as they are challenged to crack the codes and reveal the hidden fire safety messages.
How To Use
Encourage children to engage in their maths learning with these fun cross-curricular activities. Children need to solve the calculations and and once they know the answer, find the letter in the code. Once all letters have been found, the hidden messages will be revealed. For those children who need a challenge, they may want to attempt the 'Maths Code Breaker' activities and for those who may be less confident with numbers they can try the 'Fire Safety Code Buster' actvities.
