The Fire and Rescue Service know how important it is for everyone to understand what to do in the event of a fire. It is important for children to understand how their actions can help to keep them safe and how they need to act quickly in an emergency. This lesson exposes the children to important fire safety messages and how they can stay safe by knowing what to do if they are involved in a fire. It also reinforces the fact that firefighters help us but we must only call 999 when it’s a real emergency. By using maths skills, the children can practise their use of the four operations by solving calculations to find the hidden messages.
