These activities have been selected to help young people understand the hazards found in water environments such as rivers and lakes, and be able to make smart and safe choices when visiting these environments.
How To Use
These resources would be helpful for young people before they visit water bodies, either as a school trip or a family holiday. They can be delivered by teachers or parents, and used with a variety of age groups to help develop understanding of the risks associated with water environments. For primary school aged children we recommend the stories, worsearch and 'Spot the dangers' activities, as these provide a gentl introduction to hazards and safety. For secondary school aged children we recommend the crossword, emergency instructions and cold water impact activities.
