The Day I Fell In

This activity tasks children with writing a short piece of fiction, using one of the given locations and the allocated story title. They should be encouraged to include their understanding of what to do if they unexpectedly fall into cold water and be instructed to use a range of descriptive language in their writing.

Use this activity as a focus for creative writing or as a PSHE water safety lesson. The presentation explains the effect that falling into cold water has on our bodies to teach the children how to react if they find themselves experiencing cold water shock.
