Description
This bundle contains a session plan and presentation for delivering a home fire safety lesson to youth groups visiting the fire station. The session has been aimed at KS2 children aged between 8 and 11. The objectives of the session are taken from the Scouts and Guides' fire safety badge requirements and cover:
- What to do if you discover a fire at home
- Dangers at home and precautions that can be taken
- The benefits of smoke detectors
- How to make a 999 call to the fire service.
The session has been designed to last about 30 minutes to allow time for students to take a tour of the fire station and look closely at equipment and firefighter's kit during their visit to the station. Other resources have been included in the bundle as suggested activities if there is time in the visit.
How To Use
