Fire Escape Plan Layout

Learning about escape routes is a vital part of staying safe at home and in school. This activity allows the children to think about hazards at home and plan a safe, quick route out of the house. Extend this activity and challenge the children by changing their location in the house and the location of the fire. Can they still put their learning into practice and plan an escape route? A perfect activity for home learning; the children can draw a plan of their own home and develop an escape plan with their families. Could also be used to follow on from the story 'Know Your Way Out'.
