Description
This bundle contains three engaging and interactive animated videos which have been designed for educators by educators and FRS professionals and are directly linked to National Curriculum for England for KS1 and 2 Maths, English and Science.
Each video explores a different topic:-
Alex and the Firefighters - Maths
This video introduces the importance of telling the time. The video explores how time is really important to firefighters and challenges children to work out times on a clock with the added challenge of using time to work out the name of the Fire Investigation dog in the video.
Alex and the Firefighters - Literacy
This video which explores the concept of bossy verbs and instructions. Using scenarios firefighters encounter during their shifts, the video explores the importance of following instructions and and how learning about bossy verbs is also learning how instructions can keep us safe and prevent accidents.
Alex and the Firefighters - Science
This video focuses on understanding materials and their properties. Firefighter Alex explains how their equipment - just like everyday items - needs to be made of the right materials to keep us and them safe. The video challenges children to use scientific reasoning to think about everyday items and their properties, investigate what they are made of and consider the reasons why.

Thank you to Humberside FRS for hosting the filming of the videos.
How To Use
Each of the videos are designed to be used with accompanying worksheets which can be found pinned below each video. The videos can be used with children in Years 1 to 3 and the worksheets are differentiated according to the curriculum programmes of study for each subject and year group. The worksheets give children the opportunity to develop their understanding of the topics covered within the videos whilst providing the opportunity to learn important fire safety tips which could save a life.
