Making Safe Choices

This activity asks children to think through the best safety practice in relation to three set water-safety dilemmas. Discussion around the response options should be encouraged and children should enjoy the opportunity to develop a formal, balanced argument verbally.

The workshop slides present the class with three dilemmas to get the children thinking about water safety. The activity can be completed in groups to encourage the children to explain their reasoning behind their decisions. Speaking and listening skills can be practised when the children present their ideas to the class.
