Water Safety Film - Module 3

Description

This Water Safety film is the last of three modules. These films have been created to educate young people about the dangers of different water features and hydraulics, show people what to look out for and how to deal with certain situations. This module covers seven water safety topics including: how to respond to someone in distress, what to do in an emergency, how to use a throw line, cold water shock and how to prevent it, hypothermia - signs and actions, good practice for water safety and what to do if you fall into water.

How To Use

Please refer to the accompanying lesson plan and presenter guidance notes for detailed information on how to use this film. This film has been designed to be interactive with the group you are presenting to, with several oppotunites to pause the video and ask for answers to the questions on screen or for the group to ask their own questions. This module can either follow on from the previous modules as a conclusion to the KS3 Water Safety presentation or it can be used as a stand-alone resource to be delivered as part of an assembly talk or as part of a carousel of activities such as a PSHE day or a Crucial Crew Event.
