Fire Action Plan KS2

Description

This lesson plan and associated resources teach children about the importance of knowing what to do if they hear their smoke alarms, or if they see or smell fire while they are at home. It is important for children to understand that acting quickly without panicking could save their lives and the lives of their families. They could make a real difference to their family's safety by passing on their learning about being prepared and having a fire action plan.

How To Use

Use as part of a PSHE unit of work or as the stimulus for an English lesson on instructional writing. The children will get an opportunity to think about the need for a clear set of instructions to be developed for a fire action plan. Can they come up with their own instructions for their family to follow if they hear their smoke alarm at home?

'Resource 1' below is a worksheet to use in this lesson for the pupils to write down their action plan.
