The aim of this session is to provide fire cadets with an awareness of different fire and rescue service knots and lines.
The key objectives covered are to:
- Identify a range of FRS lines.
- Describe where and why the various types of lines would be used.
- Show where the lines are stowed on an appliance.
- Identify different types of knots used by the FRS.
- Learn how to tie a variety of knots used by the FRS.
- Describe the characteristics of a good knot.
How To Use
This presentation is part of the Unit 4 materials for Fire Cadet Award 2. Cadets should have completed all of Fire Cadet Award 1 before beginning to work on Award 2. Your instructors will be able to explain the structure of Fire Cadet Award 2 and which units are mandatory and which are optional.
