The aim of this session is to provide fire cadets with an awareness of different fire and rescue service knots and lines.

The key objectives covered are to:

  • Identify a range of FRS lines.
  • Describe where and why the various types of lines would be used.
  • Show where the lines are stowed on an appliance.
  • Identify different types of knots used by the FRS.
  • Learn how to tie a variety of knots used by the FRS.
  • Describe the characteristics of a good knot.
