Road Safety (Speech Writing)

Description

This presentation uses facts about road safety to revise speech writing and persuasive writing skills developed in KS2 and KS3 to write a speech about road safety.

How To Use

Students are invited to reflect on the last speech they heard and what made it effective. Students are reminded of GAPS - Genre, Audience, Purpose and Style. They then watch a video on Road Safety and consider facts provided by the fire and rescue service.  They are then reminded of the acronym DAFOREST, which assists them to produce effective persuasive writing to compile their speech using the relevant techniques to enforce the message of road safety.

There is a lesson plan that can be found below containing details of how to sue this presentation to deliver this session.
