Description
Lesson Plan revises speech writing and persuasive writing skills developed in KS2 and KS3 to write a speech about road safety.
How To Use
Students are invited to reflect on the last speech they heard and what made it effective. Students are reminded of GAPS - Genre, Audience, Purpose and Style. Students then watch a video on Road Safety and consider facts provided by the F&RS. The students then compile notes for their speech. They are then reminded of the acronym DAFOREST, which assists them to produce effective persuasive writing. Students then compile their speech using the relevant techniques to enforce the message of road safety.
