Description
A lesson plan that revises speech writing and persuasive writing skills developed in KS2 and KS3 to write a speech about road safety.
How To Use
Students are invited to reflect on the last speech they heard and what made it effective. They are reminded of GAPS - Genre, Audience, Purpose and Style before they watch a video on Road Safety and consider facts provided by the fire and rescue service. They are then reminded of the acronym DAFOREST, which assists them to produce effective persuasive writing to compile their speech using the relevant techniques to enforce the message of road safety.
There is a presentation to accompany this lesson plan. This can be found by clicking on 'Resource 1' below.
