Description
This is a standalone lesson that can be taught at any point in KS3/4 to get students thinking about why risk assessments are carried out in science lessons and how to reduce the risk of potential hazards.
How To Use
Use the handout during the risk assessment lesson to allow the students to formulate their own risk assessment for a science experiment. Encourage them to think about the potential hazards and their associated risks.
'Resource 1' below is a useful worksheet to use as part of the lesson. Further down the page you can find the lesson plan with all the details needed to deliver the session and how to use the worksheets provided.
