This Fire Safety presentation supports the StayWise Year 2 Fire Safety Lesson created by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. The presentation uses engaging visual activities to help children identify common fire hazards, understand the importance of a fire escape plan, and learn what to do if their clothes catch fire. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, pupils develop key fire safety knowledge and gain a better understanding of how firefighters help keep people safe.
How To Use
This presentation is designed to accompany the Year 2 Fire Safety lesson and can be delivered by the class teacher. Use the hazard-spotting slides to encourage discussion about potential fire risks in the home and how they can be made safer. Guide pupils through the fire escape plan activity to explore safe actions during a fire emergency, including raising the alarm, getting out, staying out, and calling 999. Finish with the STOP, DROP & ROLL slide to demonstrate the correct actions if clothing catches fire. The presentation provides visual prompts throughout the lesson, helping to engage pupils, reinforce key safety messages, and encourage participation and questioning.
