Ever wandered what it looks like inside an ambulance and what kind of equipment they carry? Well, this fantastic interactive tour of an ambulance, created by North East Ambulance Service, will allow you to thoroughly explore the inside and outside of one of their ambulances. As you explore, there are videos and images to click on that will zoom in on a particular element to give you more information about it.
How To Use
This is an excellent visual tool to share with children and adults of all ages to show them what it looks like, and what all the equipment is for, inside an ambulance. As part of PSHE lessons, children learn about the people who help us and this would provide them with a valuable learning experience to deepen their understanding of the ambulance service. There is the option to select an age range for the tour. The 'Child' option explains things in more child-friendly language to allow under 11s to access the information more easily. The 'Adult' option uses technical vocabulary and shares more details about the equipment and its uses. This is ideal for KS3 students and above including adults.
Navigate around the ambulance using the buttons at the bottom to select: side, inside, back, front and cab. From there, click on the 'play' icons to view the short video about the item selected or the 'image' icon to get a closer look at an item.
For Special Educational Needs
Both versions of the tour (Adult and Child) are available with BSL translations with the video clips to increase accessibility for users with hearing impairments.
