This 1-1 activity is designed for delivery to Key Stage 2/3 children and young people (CYP). The session encourages discussion about misconceptions around fire safety. It is designed to give the CYP topics to think about and then go through an open discussion to increase awareness of the dangers and consequences of fire setting and promote responsible behaviour and decision making.
How To Use
Use this with individual children that have been identified as displaying increased curiosity about fire or have already been involved in potentially dangerous fire-setting activities. Use this plan alongside the 'Agree or Disagree Cards' to complete the activity with the CYP. In the plan there are suggested questions and discussion points to support you in engaging in a meaningful discussion during the activity.
Supporting Items:
'Resource 1' is the cards needed for the main activity in this session.
'Resource 2' is the risk assessment activity that is suggested as an extension task.
