This Water Safety Activities Pack has been designed to accompany the StayWise KS3 Water Safety Lesson created by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. The resource includes an interactive true-or-false quiz, answer sheets and scenario-based discussion cards that help students explore the risks associated with open water environments. Through engaging activities, young people develop their understanding of water safety, cold-water shock, safe decision-making, emergency response and the RNLI's Float to Live message. The activities encourage critical thinking and provide opportunities for students to apply water safety knowledge to realistic situations.
How To Use
Use the quiz to encourage discussion and challenge common misconceptions about water safety, then review the answers to reinforce key safety messages. The scenario cards can be used in small groups to help students identify risks, discuss safer choices, and explore how they would respond in a water-related emergency. Together, the activities encourage participation, critical thinking, and practical application of the RNLI's Float to Live advice.
