Water Safety (Primary)

Description

This presentation is aimed at KS2 students to highlight some key water safety messages with the summer approaching. There are details contained about the dangers of open water and how to react if you find yourself in the water. There are two videos included in the presentation: one to show the 'Float to Live' technique and the other features a firefighter describing an incident where a young girl found herself in trouble in a river.

How To Use

This presentation should be used to teach KS2 students about the dangers of open water and the important lifesaving technique 'Float to Live'. As summer approaches this lesson could be incorporated into PSHE lessons or as a discussion stimulus to develop oracy skills. There is a lesson plan to support delivery which can be found by scrolling further down this page.
