Urban exploring or "Urbex", is a fairly recent term describing the act of entering abandoned and dilapidated buildings, that are often fenced off or hidden out of plain sight. This lesson is aimed at 11 - 16 year olds and has been developed by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service. It aims to educate young people about how dangerous this behaviour can be and the serious consequences it can have.
This resource is the tables and risk cards needed for the activity part of the lesson.
How To Use
These resources will need to printed off and prepared before delivering the session. They have been designed so that they can be adapted to the age and understanding of the students involved. They should promote discussion among the students as they work together to match together details with each of the dangers/consequences of urban exploring.
