The aim of this session is to enable Fire Cadets to develop knowledge of the special appliances and ancillary equipment used by the Fire and Rescue Services and understanding their functions at incidents.
The key objectives are to:
- Identify at least 6 special appliances and 6 types of ancillary equipment used by the FRS and describe how and when they may be used.
- Describe the hazards, risks and control measures of special appliances and ancillary equipment.
How To Use
This presentation is for Unit 6 of Fire Cadet Award 2. Cadets should have completed all of Fire Cadet Award 1 before beginning to work on Award 2. Your instructors will be able to explain the structure of Fire Cadet Award 2 and which units are mandatory and which are optional.
