The aim of this session is to enable Fire Cadets to gain knowledge and understanding of Fire and Rescue Service artefacts and why they need to be preserved. Fire Cadets will develop skills in presenting different artefacts using various methods and techniques.
The key objectives are to:
- Identify five different artefacts.
- Describe the purpose and benefit of preserving artefacts.
- State six methods of preserving artefacts.
- Take part in a discussion on museum planning.
- State five different display techniques used in museum artefacts.
- Identify the role of a Curator.
How To Use
This presentation is for Unit 17 for Fire Cadet Award 2. Cadets should have completed all of Fire Cadet Award 1 before beginning to work on Award 2. Your instructors will be able to explain the structure of Fire Cadet Award 2 and which units are mandatory and which are optional.
