The aim of this session is to introduce health and safety working practices.
The key objectives covered are:
- To identify the difference between a hazard, a risk and a control measure.
- To understand basic words of command used on the fire ground.
- To explain what manual handling is.
- To demonstrate the correct technique used for manual handling.

This is the second session in Module 1 of the Fire Cadet Award 1 certification course. Cadets should have completed Session 1 - Introduction to Fire Cadets before this session.
