KS3 Bonfire, Firework and Anti-Social Behaviour

Description

Halloween and Bonfire Night is an extremely busy time for the emergency organisations as the demand for services rises significantly. It just takes a slight slip in attention, or a moment of carelessness for something to go badly wrong and cause, what could be, a potentially serious injury to someone. It is also a time when anti-social behaviour increases, such as hoax calls. This presentation accompanies the lesson plan for Bonfires, Fireworks, and Anti-Social Behaviour.

How To Use

In the run up to bonfire, firework and Halloween season, raise awareness among students about how careless behaviour could have devastating consequences.  Share a video that dramatises an actual event to highlight how easy it can be to feel pressured into acting dangerously.  With the support of the lesson plan to provide extra details, deliver this session to students to help keep them safe and make sensible choices during this dangerous season.
