60 Second Incident Command is a fast‑paced team challenge designed to help Fire Cadets practise decision‑making, communication, and situational awareness at emergency incidents. Using realistic rescue and fireground scenarios, cadets work together to assess risks, prioritise actions, and explain their plan under time pressure, mirroring the early stages of incident command.
How To Use
- Split cadets into small teams.
- Display a scenario slide and give teams 60 seconds to gather information, discuss risks, and agree on a plan of action.
- Each team shares their decisions with the group.
- Instructors lead a short discussion on safety, command priorities, and alternative options.
- Use scenarios to reinforce teamwork, communication, and safe working practices.
