Crossing the Road

Crossing the road can be dangerous if you don't know how to do it properly. Children, from a young age, need to learn some simple steps to help them stay safe when they need to cross a road. This activity firstly shares the information they need and then challenges them to create a safety leaflet that will teach others how to cross a road safely.

Encourage the children to use their creativity and imaginations to design an eye-catching and informative safety leaflet. The children will firstly need to read the information clearly and then decide how they want to display the information in their leaflet.This activity could be used in English lessons focusing on non-fiction texts, art lessons looking at design skills or as part of PSHE lessons about keeping safe.
