Description
The ‘Rewind’ activity builds familiarity with the RNLI’s four key messages; Stop and think, Stay together, Float, and Call 999/112. This plan provides some delivery ideas and a loose script that can be used to ensure young people get the most out of the Rewind activity. These activities create lots of opportunities for discussion to provoke new levels of awareness and establish how important water safety is. Please be aware of local context when delivering this session as it can be a sensitive topic for students particularly if they have experience of similar situations.
How To Use
This session covers important objectives in the Health and Wellbeing section of the PSHE curriculum. By using sources and evidence presented to them, the students are asked to unpick the events and find out the details of a water-related incident. Completing this process will expose them to key safety information and remind them of the importance of behaving safely and responsibly near water.
