This lesson introduces pupils to safety during Bonfire Night and Halloween, focusing on the risks associated with fireworks, bonfires, and anti-social behaviour. It helps learners understand key issues such as wilful fire‑raising, hoax calls, and attacks on emergency services, and explores the real-life consequences of these actions.

How To Use

  • Deliver as a 20-minute session within Health and Wellbeing or Social Studies.
  • Use the presentation slides and videos to introduce key safety messages and stimulate discussion.
  • Encourage pupil participation through questions, discussion, and scenario-based learning.
  • Highlight real-life consequences of unsafe behaviour, including legal implications and risks to people and property.
  • Reinforce learning with a plenary knowledge check to ensure pupils understand how to stay safe and make responsible choices.
