This session looks at the main causes of fire in the home and how to prevent fires from happening. It explores a bedtime routine and how to escape in the event of a fire. It also looks at the impact of a fire and the importance of working smoke alarms in the home. It provides time for facilitated conversation and activities with learners around key topics and involves learners by giving them the opportunity to engage and explore fire safety in the home.

There are options given in the plan to reduce the time taken for this session by removing the activities and there are also different ideas for sharing the activities with the students so the lesson can be adapted to the group you are working with.
