Bonfire, Halloween and Firework Safety is an engaging safety awareness lesson that helps Key Stage 1 pupils understand the potential risks associated with bonfires, fireworks, sparklers and Halloween activities. Through discussion and practical activities, pupils learn how to make safe choices, recognise hazards and understand what to do if their clothing catches fire. This lesson has been mapped to the Northern Ireland Curriculum, supporting learning within PDMU (Personal Development and Mutual Understanding), as well as elements of Language and Literacy and Physical Education.
How To Use
Use the presentation to introduce key safety messages about bonfires, fireworks, sparklers and Halloween. Encourage pupils to discuss hazards, safe behaviours and the importance of following adult instructions.
Practise the Stop, Drop and Roll technique and finish with a short review of the main safety messages, allowing pupils to share ways they can stay safe during the bonfire and Halloween season.
