Fire Safety in the Home - KS1

This lesson plan focuses on fire hazards in the home and the importance of bedtime routines. It also addresses how smoke alarms keep us safe and how to react in an emergency situation including if your clothes catch fire.

This lesson has an accompanying presentation and can be delivered by a representative from your local fire and rescue service or by the class teacher. Fire safety details are all contained within this plan and in the presentation to support effective delivery. It covers objectives from the KS1 PSHE curriculum and features an active element when the children are asked to practise the Stop, Drop and Roll technique.
