How do we know about the Great Fire of London?

The two activities included in this plan are based on the historical sources that tell us about the Great Fire of London and encourage the children to explore a diary entry and newspaper article from 1666.  The tasks for the children are writing tasks and the resources should be used as a stimulus to develop the children’s writing; focussing on the different genres of diary writing and newspaper reports.

The two tasks in the activity plan have a writing focus so they are an excellent way to bring writing into the children's history learning.
