Building Construction in 1666

Description

The construction of buildings in 1666 contributed to the speed at which the Great Fire of London spread through the city. These activities will show the children how the materials used to build houses were flammable and also, how the proximity of the houses to each other facilitated the spread of the fire.

How To Use

The activities included in this plan will help the children to understand how buildings were different in 1666 as part of a unit on The Great Fire of London. Not only will they learn about building construction but they can get creative with some practical activities to get their hands dirty.
