Beach Bag

This interactive activity is designed to introduce the children to a range of items that they are likely find near water. It can be tailored to the group by focusing on the coast or inland waterways, depending on the location of the school. During the activity children select objects at random from a bag and discuss what they think they could be. It can become an excellent sensory activity by using actual objects collected from the local area.

This activity would be an effective starter to a longer water safety session or as an interactive activity during a PSHE day all about safety. It will promote discussion and allow the adults to gently introduce some of the more hazardous things you may find near the water.
