Colouring activities can be used to help build fine motor skills and promote mindfulness, whilst allowing children the opportunity to expand their imaginations.  This colouring activity can be used as a stand alone activity or to support and consolidate learning following topics such as people who help us.

How To Use

The fire and rescue service use different types of vehicles to attend emergencies or incidents. The vehicle in this colouring picture is a fire engine but we also call it a fire appliance or a fire truck.  Children can get creative and colour in this picture of the Firefighter using any method they choose, will it be with crayons, colouring pencils, paints or felt pens?   Challenge the children to think about colours that would be appropriate for the Firefighter's kit and how they could make the fire engine stand out so it would be easily seen by other road users when responding to a 999 call.  However they choose to complete their picture, this activity will provide a great discussion point around the role of a Firefighter.
