The fire and rescue service attend many different types of emergencies and incidents.  At some fire stations, Firefighters use the pole drop to descend from an upper level of the station so they can reach the fire engine more quickly.  This colouring activity shows a Firefighter sliding down a pole.

Colouring activities can be used to help build fine motor skills and promote mindfulness, whilst allowing children the opportunity to expand their imaginations.  This colouring activity can be used as a stand alone activity or to support and consolidate learning following topics such as people who help us.

Children can get creative and colour in this picture using any method they choose, will it be with crayons, colouring pencils, paints or felt pens?  Perhaps the children would like to get even more creative and use glitter, tissue paper or foil to enhance their pictures?  However they choose to complete their picture, this activity will provide a great discussion point around the role of a Firefighter.
