Origami is the art of paper folding,  in this creative, practical activity, challenge children to make their own origami Firefighter's helmet, perfect for wet play or a role play area!  Develop the children's fine-motor and design skills and encourage them to add colour to the helmet to make it fit for purpose.   This activity is great for either initiating discussions or consolidating learning around a Firefighters kit when exploring topics such as 'People who help us'.  This activity would also provide a good starting point for discussions around how helmets can help to keep people safe and when it is important to wear a helmet.

How To Use

Follow the step by step instructions on the sheet to fold a Firefighter’s helmet out of a single sheet of paper.   It is recomended to use an A3 size sheet of paper for this activity.  This activity can be a little tricky so some children may need the support of an adult, however some adults may also find this origami helmet tricky so why not set up a challenge - the adults against the children, who will be the first to complete their Firefighters helmet?
