Description
At some incidents there are chemicals that are dangerous. In the fire brigade we call them hazardous materials. The Watch Commander and Firefighter in this photo are carrying equipment to protect their breathing and equipment to detect hazardous materials. Once they have detect the materials they can radio control who can send them information on how dangerous the chemical is and how best to make it safe.
