This interactive activity sheet helps children and young people explore the wide range of roles carried out by firefighters. Using a true-or-false approach, participants identify which duties are genuine firefighter responsibilities and which are not, helping to challenge misconceptions and increase awareness of how Fire and Rescue Services help keep people and communities safe.
How To Use
Use this activity sheet alongside the Role of a Firefighter Session Plan. Ask participants to decide which roles are real firefighter duties and which are false, using ticks and crosses, coloured counters or discussion prompts. The activity can be completed individually or with a practitioner, providing opportunities to talk about emergency response, rescue work, community safety and fire prevention. It is suitable for Early Years, KS1 and KS2 learners and can be adapted to meet individual needs.
The session plan can be found below to support with delivery.
