Tuesday 30th May saw the launch of StayWise Cymru at the Urdd Eisteddfod festival in Llandovery, Wales. The festival is one of Europe's largest youth festivals and attracts over 90, 000 visitors each year.
StayWise Cymru mirrors StayWise through the provision of quality assured safety education resources for use by blue light users, teachers and the general public with the aim of saving lives through education. Within StayWise Cymru all assets are provided as bilingual activities, lesson plans, interactives games, books and more, as they are all available in both the Welsh and English language.
Lianne Partridge, Fire Education Liaison Officer for StayWise commented, “It is great to see StayWise resources available in another language and in a format that means so many more young people and teachers in schools can benefit from accessing the lifesaving information available. The Eisteddfod is a great place to launch StayWise Cymru and it’s been amazing to see so many children and young people engaging in those Welsh language activities. I’m really looking forward to seeing the further development of the website and growing the engagement of the Welsh Fire and Rescue Services with StayWise and StayWise Cymru.”
StayWise Cymru has been coordinated by all three Welsh Fire and Rescue Services alongside partners such as the RNLI, Natural Resources Wales, Network Rail, Swim Wales and the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.
